Walton Options is celebrating the thirty-third anniversary of the Americans With Disability Act with a community celebration on July 31, 2023, from 4:00 to 6 p.m. at its Georgia office at 948 Walton Way.

The celebration is open to the public, featuring food by Beefed Up Food Truck and Deez Treats Italian Ice. There will be an in-house resource fair where visitors can learn about all of our programs and services.

The event will also feature an adaptive gaming exhibition, face painting, giveaways, and much more. It is sure to be fun for the whole family!

At the event, Walton Options will celebrate its core services, which are the foundation for the development of many programs. These include peer meeting groups; home access through assistive technology and home modifications; employment services; Georgia Vision Program for Adults 55+; nursing home transitions; STAR or Southeastern Technology Access and Reuse program; and youth and young adult programs. Specifically, the event will highlight:

  • Walton’s updated assistive technology lab. The lab provides and opportunity for individuals to try out equipment that can help people live more independently in the community, along with resources on where people can obtain equipment.

  • Pre-employment transitions for youth. Walton Options offers programs to help young people with disabilities navigate “what’s next” when it comes to applying to college or getting a job.

  • Employment Services. Walton Options offer programs to help individuals with disabilities enter the workforce.

  • Community Access. Walton Options strive to eliminate physical and societal barriers, enabling individuals to participate fully in their communities.

“Our passion is our community,” said Tiffany Clifford, executive director at Walton Options. “We believe everyone can be a part of a community that is accessible and welcoming for people regardless of disability because 100% of People are People!
