Augusta Technical College welcomes Dr. Lily Jung Henson to Board of Trustees

Augusta Technical College is proud to announce the election of Dr. Lily Jung Henson to its esteemed Board of Trustees. Dr. Henson, currently the Chief Executive Officer for Piedmont Augusta Clinical Hub, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the College.
With a distinguished career, Dr. Henson has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA. Her roles also include Chief of Neurology at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Swedish Ballard Hospital, and Chief of Staff at Swedish Issaquah Hospital in the Seattle, WA area.
A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and former Thomas E. Dolan Scholar, Dr. Henson has made significant contributions as a board-certified neurologist. Her experience extends to roles such as Stroke Clinic Director and neurohospitalist at Swedish Health Services in Seattle. Additionally, she has been involved in multiple sclerosis therapy trials as a clinical investigator and served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Washington.
“I am honored to be asked to serve on Augusta Technical College’s Board of Trustees," stated Dr. Henson. “Our unique partnership with Augusta Tech is an example of how Piedmont champions patient-centered care and exemplifies teamwork and connections. We look forward to us working together on workforce development and developing solutions for other critical needs throughout our community.”
Dr. Henson's commitment to healthcare leadership is evident through her current positions on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Neurology and the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce. A graduate of the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University, she completed her internship and neurology residency at the University of Washington. Dr. Henson also holds a Master’s in Medical Management from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Diseases.

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Henson is married to Dr. John Henson, a professor at Wellstar MCG. She has two adult children, Derek Eng and Lauren Eng Webster, who live in Seattle.
