Helms College is proud to announce its upcoming Summer Graduation Ceremony, taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, GA.

This milestone event celebrates the achievement, perseverance, and growth of students from programs across the college’s School of Health Services and the School of Hospitality. Friends, family, faculty, and staff will gather to honor graduates as they prepare to enter the workforce with purpose and confidence.

The College is honored to welcome Dr. Katrina Hutchins as commencement speaker. Affectionately known as “Dr. Katrina,” she is the Founder and President of Re-Source Solutions, a leadership development firm dedicated to organizational excellence and personal transformation. An acclaimed speaker, executive coach, author, and philanthropist, Dr. Katrina brings decades of experience across corporate, government, nonprofit, faith-based, and higher education sectors. Her mantra —“But first, God”— has grounded her work empowering thousands to harness their voices and master their influence.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Katrina for this special occasion,” said Kristine Furtaw, Senior Vice President of Education at Helms College. “Her dedication to uplifting others through education and leadership aligns perfectly with our mission.”

The summer graduating class includes 43 students earning credentials in Culinary Arts, Health Services, and related fields. Among them are 10 Associate of Applied Science degree recipients, two distinguished honor graduates with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 18 honor graduates with GPAs between 3.5 and 3.99. The class also includes two veterans, reflecting the diverse paths and dedication of Helms students.

Founded by Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, Helms College offers a unique career education experience that blends classroom instruction, hands-on lab training, and real-world practice through social enterprises, such as Edgar’s Hospitality Group. This “classroom to lab to enterprise” model not only reinforces skill mastery but also builds confidence and professional readiness to enter the local workforce.
