Georgia Power and Jefferson Energy were recognized by the Board of Directors of the Augusta Economic Development Authority for their outstanding service to the community during the extreme weather of the past week. Both groups were presented with the “Economic Development Inner Circle” Awards.
Development Authority Chairman Henry Ingram said, “Jefferson Energy and Georgia Power gave herculean efforts during the past week in Augusta-Richmond County and in the Augusta Region, restoring electricity to homes and businesses.
The logistics of the repair work was massive, and both utilities worked tirelessly to meet the needs of their customers as quickly as possible.”
Chairman Ingram continued, “Both Georgia Power and Jefferson Energy are daily partners in our economic development efforts in Augusta-Richmond County, and are major players on our team. We recognize them today, not only for their work during the past week, but for the many years of service to the Augusta Economic Development Authority and the general public.”
The Economic Development Inner Circle Awards were created by the Augusta Economic Development Authority in 2010 to recognize those people and organizations that go “beyond the call of duty” to assist the Development Authority and the economic development efforts of the area.
