Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau Purchases 1010 Broad Street

The Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau has purchased a building at 1010 Broad Street. The Augusta CVB and Augusta Sports Council will be relocating their offices from Enterprise Mill to 1010 Broad Street; the Augusta Visitor Center will also be relocating from 560 Reynolds Street to the main floor of the new building.

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce announced its 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year today at the December Member Economic Luncheon. The award was presented to the Ellefson Family, accepted by Brian and Nyles Ellefson, with Ellefson Transportation Group.

How to Train Temporary Workers During the Busy Holiday Season

Many businesses hire additional workers during the holiday season to help with increased demand. This year, retailers are expected to employ between 640,000 and 690,000 temporary workers, according to the National Retail Federation. Improperly trained temporary hires can present workplace safety risks. A 2014 study conducted by Travelers Insurance found that 28% of injuries happen within the first year of employment.
