Colony Bank Names Chris McLaighlin Augusta Market President

Colony Bank today announced that Chris McLaughlin has joined Colony Bank as Augusta Market President. In this newly created position, he will be charged with expanding Colony Bank’s presence in the Augusta market. Chris will be working from the Company’s office at 1201 Town Park Lane in Evans.
Chris has over twenty-two years of banking experience, most recently as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager with South State Bank. He has also served in other roles and departments at South State Bank, including Credit Analysis, Residential Construction and Development Lending, and Commercial Lending. His career in banking started as a Financial Institution Specialist with Steve H. Powell & Company in Statesboro, Georgia. Chris attended Georgia Southern University and earned a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance, with an emphasis on bank management, and is currently enrolled in the 2023 class of the LSU Graduate School of Banking.

Chris is a native of the Augusta area and currently resides in Evans with his wife, Carson, and sons, Everett and Brigham. He is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and when he’s not working, he can be found in the dove field, on quail hunts, or at the baseball field with his family. He enjoys volunteering throughout the community, and he has served as past Chairman of the Board for both the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the 2010 Leadership Columbia County class through the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce.
