Destination Augusta, Augusta Sports Council & Film Augusta Hosts Annual Tourism Celebration
Tuesday, November 8th, 2022
Destination Augusta, the Augusta Sports Council and Film Augusta will hold Experience Augusta: An Annual Tourism Celebration event on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the historic Miller Theater starting at 3:30 p.m. Experience Augusta will celebrate the local tourism industry and spotlight tourism partners and their achievements.
Attendees will hear from Destination Augusta Chief Executive Officer Bennish Brown and Augusta Sports Council Chief Executive Officer Michelle Pippin who will recount notable highlights from each organization’s triumphant year of tourism and sports in Augusta's River Region.
“We’re so excited to bring this celebration back after putting it on hold the past two years. For anyone who remembers the great time we had in 2019, this is picking up where we left off,” said Brown. “All of our community partners and the Destination Augusta Board and staff have worked extremely hard as we moved through this period of recovery. It is important to pause and celebrate our 2022 successes. This event also gives us the chance to cast a vision for our collective work over the next three years.”
Experience Augusta will feature special musical guests Wycliffe Gordon, Karen Gordon, and Niki Harris. No tourism event is complete without sharing new and exciting attractions for residents and visitors. Don’t miss the opportunity to get a sneak peek at a new tourism product currently under development titled, Authentic Augusta Experiences.
“We are excited to be co-hosts with Destination Augusta and Film Augusta for this year’s event that will celebrate the accomplishments and changes of tourism in our community over the past few years,” said Pippin
