Monday, February 26th, 2024
Augusta Technical College is proud to host TEDxEvans Youth, an annual event orchestrated by dedicated local youth volunteers. The event is set to captivate audiences globally on March 3rd, from 4-8 PM on the Augusta Campus. This extraordinary gathering showcases the power of ideas through live TEDx talks and performances, embodying the essence of TED's mission to spread "ideas worth sharing." This year's theme is "Breaking Barriers."
Organized independently by passionate young individuals in our community, TEDxEvans Youth is a non-commercial, non-religious, and non-political initiative. The event's unique content and design reflect the creativity and diversity of the local youth, fostering a sense of connection and community.
Sharma Pogula, a prominent advocate for youth empowerment, expresses enthusiasm about the event, stating, "TEDxEvans Youth exemplifies the spirit of community and the boundless potential within young minds. It's a platform for sharing ideas that can shape our collective future. This event is to inspire curiosity, ignite new ideas and empower the Youth."
TEDx, a grassroots movement aligned with TED's mission, brings the spirit of TED to local communities globally. Dr. Jermaine Whirl emphasizes the significance of TEDx events, stating, "These gatherings are catalysts for uncovering new ideas and sharing cutting-edge research, sparking meaningful conversations in localities worldwide."
The upcoming TEDxEvans Youth event is the third of its kind in our community, organized by and for young people who aim to recognize and amplify the voices of their peers. The speakers, carefully selected for their passion and innovation, will cover a diverse range of topics aimed at inspiring, educating, and empowering individuals of all ages.
As we anticipate an evening filled with inspiration and thought-provoking discussions, TEDxEvans Youth invites the global community to join this celebration of ideas, fostering connections and igniting the spark of curiosity.
