Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is calling on local businesses and individuals to donate professional clothing to support job seekers preparing for Goodwill’s upcoming Career & Resource Expo. The event, which will take place on September 9, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Snelling Conference Center, offers a critical opportunity for community members to connect with potential employers and resources that can help them secure employment and advance their careers.

This clothing drive is part of Goodwill’s broader mission to provide valuable services to job seekers through its Job Connection Career Centers. Donations of items such as dress shirts, pants, blazers, suits, dresses, shoes, and accessories are essential in helping job seekers make a strong first impression during interviews.

“Every piece of professional clothing donated is an investment in someone’s future,” said Carlye Thompson, Senior Director of Career Services at Goodwill. “Our goal is to ensure that every participant at the Expo feels confident and prepared as they pursue new job opportunities.”

Donations can be dropped off at any of Goodwill's 10 donation centers across the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Additionally, organizations and businesses interested in participating in the Expo can register by visiting https://www.goodwillworks.org/career-expo/.

The Career & Resource Expo is free to the public and will feature a diverse array of local businesses and organizations, providing job opportunities and valuable resources. This event is designed to empower attendees to take the next step in their professional journeys.
