The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG)  and the TAG Entertainment Society today announced that it will honor pioneering Georgia entertainment attorney and  counsel to the music industry, Joel Katz with an 'Icons of the Industry' Award at its second annual Entertainment Industry Summit. The event will be held 12:00pm Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Marriott Buckhead Conference Center. 

Joel Katz, former Chairman of the American Bar Association's Entertainment & Sports Law Section, is widely recognized as a leader in the field of entertainment law. His clients include some of the world's most well-known entertainers, music producers, record companies, concert promoters and Fortune 500 companies. More than 30 years ago, Joel founded Katz, Smith & Cohen, which became one of the country's largest music entertainment law firms. In 1998, Katz merged his practice with Greenberg Traurig.

The TAG 2013 Entertainment Industry Summit is an annual event that Assembles local experts in the top of their fields from film & broadcast, music, and digital media (gaming and interactive marketing). Attendees are able to share their developments and challenges in a uniquely collaborative environment as they hear top industry professionals explore where Georgia excels in this rapidly growing driver of our state’s economy.

In addition to honoring Mr. Katz, this year’s event will focus on “Emerging Leadership and Convergence within Georgia’s Entertainment Industry” and will offer a diverse series of panel discussions on Gaming, Music, Film/Broadcast and more.
