New $100 Bill Has Georgia Ties

If you’re all about these benjamins, you’ve been waiting two-and-a-half years for this. The new U.S. $100 bill was released Tuesday and it features amped-up security features developed by Alpharetta, Ga.-based Visual Physics LLC.

The new bills were originally scheduled for release in February 2011, but repeated printing problems caused creases and ink smears.

The $100 bill is more frequently counterfeited than any other U.S. currency. The new $100 bill, the result of more than a decade of research, has new security features that make it easier to authenticate, but more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate.
