SunTrust Accepting Nominations for Purpose Grant

SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI), a purpose-driven company helping clients reach their life goals and a sense of financial well-being, today began accepting nominations for its "Purpose Grant" which will help the winning company solidify the "why" behind what they do. 

"It's important for leaders of businesses of any size to understand what their organization's brand stands for, and how they make a difference in the world," said Rilla Delorier, SunTrust's Chief Marketing and Client Experience Officer.  "When you have clarity around your purpose, it inspires employees, helps clients and communities, and drives higher levels of business performance.  With this grant, we hope to provide support to help another business make its mark on the world."

Studies show that 87 percent of global consumers believe that business needs to place at least equal weight on society's interests as on the business' interests.  Purpose-driven organizations are proven to attract better talent, gain more loyal consumers and have more productive employees. 

SunTrust has partnered with BrightHouse, a global purpose consulting firm, on the Purpose Grant. The recipient will receive consulting services from BrightHouse (valued at $100,000) to articulate their company's purpose, and outline an idea to bring that purpose to life.   

The Purpose Grant is open to existing SunTrust or prospective business clients.
