WHAT: University of Phoenix Augusta Campus invite aspiring entrepreneurs to a special event to learn about resources essential for small-business success. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, entrepreneurship plays a vital role in the growth of the U.S. economy. However, only 51 percent of new employer firms, businesses with two to 500 employees, survive at least five years.

At the event, University of Phoenix and Augusta Technical Community College staff and faculty, along with representatives from the Small Business Administration and SCORE, America’s premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses, will share important information via the following activities:

• Panel Discussion – Attendees will gain insight into starting a new business by listening to a special panel discussion featuring SBA, SCORE experts and local entrepreneurs who have successfully started their own businesses.  
• New Business Presentations – Industry professionals will share information and advice on how to formulate and successfully open a small business as well as share some of the many free resources and services that are available to beginning entrepreneurs.
• Networking Forum – At the conclusion of the event, attendees can begin building their small-business support network by connecting with fellow attendees, local experts and University of Phoenix faculty and staff.
