GDOL to Co-Sponsor Job Expo for Veterans May 6th in Augusta

The Georgia Department of Labor and Fort Gordon’s Army Career and Alumni Program will co-sponsor a job expo Tuesday, May 6, for veterans and other job seekers in Augusta. The expo will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fort Gordon Army Reserve Center, Building 14401, at the corner of Lane Avenue and 15th Street at Ft. Gordon.
The expo is open to veterans and their family members, active duty personnel, military retirees, National Guard, U.S. reserve units, and others. From 9:30-10:30 a.m., the expo will be open to soldiers assigned to Ft. Gordon’s Warrior Transition Battalion. At 10:30 a.m., the expo will be open to the public.
The expo will feature more than 50 employers that will be hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants must bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.
