Foreclosures Decrease in Augusta for April

Foreclosure activity for the Augusta metro area declined in April, according to real estate data firm RealtyTrac.
RealtyTrac reported there were 235 foreclosure notices filed in April in the six-county area –down from 263 in March.
The company’s monthly report showed default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions were reported on 115,830 U.S. properties in April, a 1 percent decrease from the previous month and down 20 percent from April 2013.
For Georgia, filings were 3,903 in April, up 1.9 percent from March. South Carolina, with 2,397 filings, was up 10.8 percent from March.
