GDOL to Co-Sponsor Career Expo in Augusta on June 26th

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Greater Augusta Employer Committee will co-sponsor a career expo Thursday, June 26, in Augusta. The expo will be held from 1-4 p.m. at Georgia Regents University’s Christenberry Field House, 3109 Wrightsboro Rd. Prior to the event, a workshop on interviewing skills for job seekers will be held at 12 noon.
The expo will feature about 50 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants must bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.
Those expected to participate in the expo include: Accustaff, Acrux Staffing, ADP, AFLAC, Aiken-Augusta Warrior Project, Amerigroup, Bankers Life, Beauty Control, Brick Mountain Billing, Career Personnel, Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Consumer Credit Counseling, Department of Public Safety-North Augusta, FPL Food, Georgia College of Construction, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Military College-Augusta campus, GRU and Health System, LNH Realty, MAU Workforce, Oak Grove Technologies, Schneider, Southern Wesleyan University, Spherion, T-Mobile Call Center, Teleperformance, Thompson Industrial Services, University of Phoenix, Waffle House, Walden University, and Wide Open West (WOW), a cable company.

The Greater Augusta Employer Committee is comprised of employers in Burke, Columbia, Jenkins, Richmond, Screven, and Washington counties. Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers.
