Greenworks to Hold Free Composting Classes

As part of Dumpster Depot’s effort to promote a greener Aiken and CSRA, the company is offering free, monthly composting classes to the community.
The first Greenworks Composting Class will be held on Tuesday, July 29th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the USCA Convocation Center in the Dumpster Depot VIP Room. The free class includes a light dinner, and participants will learn proper composting set up and maintenance as well as basic gardening techniques from a master gardener.
Dumpster Depot owner, Norman Dunagan, explains his idea behind the composting classes. “It takes 100 years for fruit and vegetable waste to decompose in the landfill because there is no sunlight or oxygen. That same waste will decompose in 21 days through composting. By composting we can extend the life of our landfills by 40%,” Dunagan says.
