Augusta-Richmond County’s new leader is making good on his campaign promise to eliminate the issues dividing people throughout the city.  Hardie Davis sat down with News Channel 6 to discuss how he plans on bringing harmony when taking care of business. 

Garden City residents voted Davis as their next mayor after a campaign promise of building “one Augusta” from the geography and race issues that he feels divided the city.  While he doesn’t have the power to vote on the Augusta-Richmond County Commission, he promises to lead in the unity of thousands of residents.

“Being able to cast a vote as the next mayor of Augusta is not necessary when you look at representative democracy,” Davis said. 

His vote may not matter when it comes to leading Augusta-Richmond County, but Davis said when leaders have their constituents’ trust that’s all that matters.
