Georgia Military College (GMC) Augusta, a liberal arts junior college, began classes for the Fall 1 quarter on August 2, 2014. The number of students enrolled shows growth for the college.
GMC currently has a total of 1140 students enrolled at the Augusta campus. This is a 27% increase at this time of the year in 2012. This number includes returning students as well as new students to the college.
The number of new students also shows rapid growth. The college proudly welcomes 321 new students to the Augusta campus this quarter. This number shows a 46.5% increase in new students from the Fall 1 quarter in 2012.
When asked about her opinion on the nature of the growth, Missie Usry the Enrollment Manager for the campus said, “I attribute the growth of our new student population and high retention rate in the last two years to all new administrators and several departments who have hired new staff members with fresh, innovative ideas for streamlining processes.”
The institution intends to continue this pattern of growth over the next several years. GMC Augusta is currently accepting applications for the next available quarter. Applications are due to the school by September 1, 2014.
