Columbia County Chamber Hosts Annual State of the Community Address

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual State of the Community Address onTuesday, September 23 at Liberty Park Gym at 1040 Newmantown Road in Grovetown.
More than 300 people are expected to attend the event that brings community leaders together to give the community an update on the future growth and goals of Columbia County.
This year’s speakers are: Board of Commissioners Chairman Ron Cross;, School Board Chairman Regina Buccafussco; Grovetown Mayor George James; Harlem Mayor Pro Tem John Thigpen; and Fort Gordon’s Garrison Commander, Col. Sam Anderson.
Audience members will have a chance to submit questions in writing to the panel.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Business Expo featuring booths from 24 local businesses and organizations. A barbecue dinner from Shane’s Rib Shack will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m. the program will begin.
The program, expo and barbecue dinner are open to the public, but reservations are required.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $8 for children and $200 for a table for eight. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
