The Job Connection of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA will hold its third annual Fall Job Fair, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Snelling Center, 3165 Washington Road at Fury’s Ferry Road. The Job Fair is free to job-seekers and employers.

This job fair recognizes the growing diversity of our workforce and brings together employers and applicants while highlighting the programs available through the Job Connection. More than two dozen employers and community resources will be on site to provide information about current job openings in the Augusta area.

Goodwill’s primary mission is providing job training, education and career development services. In Fiscal Year 2014, Goodwill’s Job Connections served more than 21,000 individuals and placed more than 4,300 in new jobs.

In preparation for the job fair, the Goodwill Job Connection will hold a Job Fair Boot Camp on Tuesday, Sept. 23, to assist job-seekers in making the best first impression with prospective employers. Sessions will be offered in Spanish at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and in English at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with mock interview workshops at noon and 4 p.m. The classes will be taught by human resources professionals from businesses that will be represented at the Job Fair. Employers and community resource partners participating in the fall Job Fair include Augusta National, Carole Fabrics, Columbia County Board of Education, FedEx, FPL Foods, Teleperformance, Georgia Regents University, Costa Layman Farms, Shaw Industries, Augusta Warrior Project, The Home Depot, University Hospital, Goodwill Industries and Goodwill Staffing Services.  Helms College and Helms Continuing Education also will hold open house during the job fair for job seekers interested in obtaining additional marketable skills.
