Press release from the issuing company
Friday, September 12th, 2014
After three years of using only part of the 2nd floor of the old Houghton Building, Heritage Academy's 2nd floor is now fully operational after extensive renovations over the last six months.
A capital campaign raised 1.5 million, which provided the funds for the renovation, which was overseen by RW Allen and designed by Nick Dickinson. "It was a great triumph," says Dr. Linda Tucciarone, the school's Executive Director. "It has taken seven years to complete the renovation of our beautiful historic home. We are so grateful to the community who made it possible."
The school will hold a Ribbon Cutting on September 17, 2014, beginning at 8:30 with chapel. Following chapel will be the ribbon cutting, tours and light refreshments. The public is invited.
The chapel speaker will be Dr. Vernard Gant, who is the director of Urban School Services with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In this position, Dr. Gant is responsible for overseeing over 200 Christian schools throughout the nation that target and serve minority, under-resourced, and urban children. Prior to his work with ACSI, Dr. Gant founded two Christian schools targeting and serving low-income children in Birmingham, Alabama.
