Aiken Tech Health Sciences Students to Host Annual Community Health Fair

Aiken Technical College health sciences students will host an annual community health fair on campus on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The health fair, which will take place in the Student Activities Center (900 Building) Gym, will be free and open to the public.
Health sciences students will administer blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol checks, as well as vision and hearing screenings.
Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the gym.
Health sciences students will also provide information on various health topics, and ATC’s Student Government Association will host a table to provide information about their semester-long mental health awareness campaign.
ATC nursing students will present a disease-specific nutrition buffet that will include food items appropriate for people with various dietary restrictions. Students will also offer information about the dietary restrictions and distribute recipes.
Mended Hearts of Aiken, Gold’s Gym, Aiken Treatment Specialists, Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health and Mental Health America of Aiken County will also participate in the event.
Aiken Technical College is located at 2276 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville.
