Scott and Company CPAs Promotes Five Members of Audit Team

Scott and Company LLC, one of South Carolina’s leading accounting and consulting firms, has promoted Chris Halkowitz, Charles A. “Chuck” Goessel, Kelly Damiano, Chelsea Shoolbred and Sam Wheeler on the growing firm’s Assurance and Advisory Services team.
Named as Senior Manager on the Assurance and Advisory Services team, Mr. Halkowitz joined Scott and Company in 2008. A licensed CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner, Mr. Halkowitz holds both a B.S. degree and M.B.A. with concentration in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Named as Manager, Mr. Goessel is a CPA and has over seven years of experience in public accounting, including time spent conducting financial and retirement plan audits of organizations in manufacturing, real estate, retail and professional services. He joined Scott and Company in 2013 and is a member of both the AICPA and SCACPA, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University. He is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 29.
Promoted to Senior Accountant, Ms. Damiano joined Scott and Company in 2012 and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in Retail Management and a Master of Accountancy degree. Currently pursuing her CPA license, she serves clients in a variety of industries including banking, manufacturing, state and local government, non-profit organizations and retail. She is an active supporter of both the AICPA and SCACPA.
Also named as Senior Accountant, Ms. Shoolbred is a graduate of the University of South Carolina - Upstate with a B.S. degree in Business Administration, and earned her Masters of Public Accountancy from Clemson University. A licensed CPA, she joined Scott and Company in 2012, and maintains active membership in the AICPA and SCACPA. She works extensively with clients in the real estate, hospitality, non-profit and state/local government arenas, as well as with a broad range of closely-held businesses.
Mr. Wheeler, also named as Senior Accountant, joined Scott and Company in 2012 and is a graduate of Lander University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Accounting, before earning his M.B.A. from Winthrop University. He has more than five years of experience in internal audit, external audit and compliance in both industry and public accounting, and is currently pursuing his CPA license in South Carolina. He is an active supporter of both the AICPA and SCACPA.
