2014 Georgia National Fair Wins Industry Awards

The Georgia National Fair received several awards from the International Association of Fairs & Expositions for the 25th Anniversary event which took place October 2-12, 2014 in Perry, Georgia. The awards were presented at the Awards Reception on Dec. 10, 2014, during the 124th annual IAFE Convention held in Las Vegas, Nev. The Georgia National Fair takes great pride in knowing that their event has been selected for these prestigious honors. 

The awards are separated by categories. The entries are evaluated and judged by a team of industry leaders. These individuals are selected from the membership of International Association of Fairs and Expositions, which has over 1,200 members from around the globe. 

There are a total of 21 award categories for the Communications Awards, each divided into 5 divisions by attendance, that a Fair or Expo can enter. The purpose of this competition is to improve the advertising and publicity programs of fairs and to provide recognition for those fairs doing an outstanding job. The Georgia National Fair received second place for Best Web Advertisement, and third place for Best Magazine Ad.

There are a total of 14 Agriculture Award categories. The Georgia National Fair was awarded second place for Overall Agricultural Program for Non-Agricultural Fairgoing Public, and second place for Overall Program for Competitive Agricultural Exhibitors. 

There are a total of 13 Award categories for Competitive Exhibits. The Fair received second place for Use of theme throughout competitive exhibits - incorporated in a single competitive exhibits class or contest. 

The International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), based in Springfield, Mo., is a voluntary, nonprofit corporation serving state, provincial, regional, and county agricultural fairs, shows, exhibitions, and expositions. Its associate members include state and provincial associations of fairs, non-agricultural expositions and festivals, associations, corporations, and individuals engaged in providing products and services to its members, all of whom are interested in the improvement of fairs, shows, expositions, and allied fields.
