The Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Augusta Sports Council (ASC) are pleased to announce that visitors attending meetings, reunions, events and/or sporting events in Augusta will generate at least $2,065,569.30 in direct visitor spending over the month of January.
One of the largest events coming to Augusta this month is the 36th Annual Augusta Cutting Horse Futurity. This event is expected to have an attendance of more than 2,700 people. For 35 years, Atlantic Coast Cutting Horse Association has hosted the Augusta Futurity, and it continues to be the only annual event at the James Brown Arena has hosted every year.
"Augusta’s hospitable spirit sets a great stage to showcase our sport’s best competitors, drawing visitors from all over America and some from overseas, and is widely recognized one of the great major shows among all equine events," said Alan Kane, Events Coordinator for Morris Communications.
The diversity of the events meeting in Augusta this month range from the Georgia Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates to the Church of the Living God National Pastors and Ministers Conference.
“The meeting planners and sports groups we work with always speak highly of Augusta,” said Barry White, Augusta CVB President and CEO. “We’re easy to get to, and its easy getting around once they’re here. And when the work is done, they kick back, unwind, and enjoy Augusta. ”
