Recently released data by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has ranked Synovus first in the nation for loans in the $100,000 to $1 million range. The SBA data also ranked Synovus among the top five in total loans to small businesses across the country and in the state of Georgia.
The report, labeled “Small Business Lending in the United States, 2013,” ranks lenders based on the dollar value of total loans outstanding. It includes lenders with domestic assets of $10 billion or more, representing 48.9 percent of outstanding small business loans.
Additionally, Synovus is now one of fewer than 20 banks nationally to be part of the SBA’s Preferred Lender Program (PLP) for its Export Working Capital Program (EWCP). EWCP loans provide advances for up to $5 million to fund export transactions. Synovus becomes one of only two banks in Georgia and one of only three in the Southeast with this status, which provides the ability to expedite processing of Export Working Capital Loans.
