Synovus has won two Gold Midas Awards, one Silver Midas Award, and one Midas Certificate for its “Bank of Here” campaign. The Midas Awards recognize the World's Best Financial Advertising from creative leaders in the financial marketing and advertising industry. This year, financial institutions from more than 30 countries entered the competition.

The company’s 60-second TV spot “Rebel Teen,” shows a teenager who rebels in an unexpected way, by deciding to stay right in his hometown, where he will get married, take over and expand a business, buy a home, and raise a family – all life stages during which Synovus can support customers. This commercial is the second in a series of “Bank of Here” ads which highlights Synovus’ strong community ties and ability to connect with customers through personal relationships combined with the capabilities of a larger bank. The ad won two Gold Midas Awards – one for the traditional banking category and one for best use of television.

Synovus won a Silver Midas Award for the print campaign called “We’re Reading This Too,” which shows actual Synovus bankers on the other side of the newspaper, reading the same local business news as customers. The company also earned a Midas Certificate for excellence in use of print advertising for a campaign featuring photography of locations around the bank’s footprint and highlights the bank’s product capabilities.

“We wanted our first brand advertising campaign to stand out in the banking industry,” said Loree Link, Director of Marketing. “Our recognition at the Midas Awards is affirmation that we’re hitting the mark with our message, while honoring the people and communities we serve.”

Synovus launched the “Bank of Here” campaign in March. The campaign continues this month with a new TV spot premiering during college bowl games. To view the winning work, visit Fitzgerald+CO’s site, creative.fitzco.com/Synovus.
