When Cliff Garzillo opened the doors to his Italian pizzeria in Aiken more than two years ago, the budding restaurateur felt he had perfected the recipe for success.
Garzillo found a niche product in his Neapolitan-style pizza and made his dishes from scratch. The surrounding demographics also seemed right.
So, after spending 20 years as a medical illustrator at the Medical College of Georgia, Garzillo decided to turn his pizza-making passion into a career and opened Apizza di Napoli on Silver Bluff Road with his wife, Wanda.
