Press release from the issuing company

Monday, February 23rd, 2015

On Monday, February 23, 2015 the corporate giving community observes International Corporate Philanthropy Day to raises awareness about the important role of the private sector in society, to build awareness of corporate-community partnerships and to inspire further involvement among businesses.

In honor of Corporate Philanthropy Day, The Salvation Army of Greater Augusta will launch our Corporate Philanthropy Partnership 2015 program offering financial sponsorships and volunteer opportunities to area businesses.

The Corporate Philanthropy Partnership offers a variety of volunteer and sponsorship possibilities in The Salvation Army to match the corporate vision and visible community commitment of companies. The proposal is presented so that corporations may select those areas which best reflects there philanthropic outlook. It is also The Salvation Army 150th Anniversary in 2015.

Designed to fit businesses of any size, it creates new relationships or expands existing relationships into innovative volunteer and financial commitments, as well as in-kind support. Busy CEO’s love the once-a-year, one-stop-shopping of this proposal.

Business management expert Peter Drucker described The Salvation Army as being "by far the most effective organization in the U.S., nonprofit or for-profit” and Drucker adds "No one even comes close to it with respect to clarity of mission, ability to innovate, measurable results, dedication, and putting money to maximum use."

The Salvation Army occupies a prominent position in the American philanthropic landscape by virtue of both its size and its effectiveness. In this country alone, The Salvation Army annually assists over 30 million Americans.  We also serve in 126 counties around the world.

Forbes magazine calculates that if the Army's employees and volunteers were paid at market rates, the organization would rank with the world's largest companies and adds "The Salvation Army can teach us all a lot about how to run a business."

The vision of The Salvation Army originates from what first inspired our founder 150 years ago, to bring hope to all who suffer and help those in need. Serving those in need in the Augusta area since 1891, our Center of Hope serves 300 meals a day and shelters over 100 homeless men, women and children every night. The Salvation Army’s Kroc Corps Community Center has brought a whole new dimension of service to the community and our Kroc Corporate Partner membership offers many benefits. Packages can be customized to fit your corporation’s unique needs and can fit businesses of any size.
