Augusta has added a new organic foods grocer in Whole Foods Market.

The natural and organic foods supermarket opened last September at 2911 Washington Road in the Washington Crossing shopping center, just off Interstate 20. The Austin-based chain spent more than a year transforming a former floral warehouse into the 41,000-square-foot store.

In addition to carrying an expansive list of grocery and produce items, Whole Foods also has a coffee shop, large food bar, indoor restaurant, outdoor cafe and growler station for craft beer. The Augusta store even has a nine-hole putting green on its outside patio in honor of the Masters Tournament.
