Friday, May 15th, 2015
The Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to welcome the Professional Firefighters of Georgia for its 2015 Convention and Augusta Firefighters Greenjackets game, May 14-15, 2015. The convention will be held at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center with other festivities at the Grenjackets stadium. The meeting, for an estimated 100 attendees, will focus on legislative updates and Firefighter safety and health in Georgia. The convention will generate more than $49,023.80 in direct visitor spending for the city of Augusta.
The Professional Fire Fighters of Georgia protect and advance the interests of career firefighters employed by the cities and counties of the Peach State. Comprised of local affiliates of the International Association of Fire Fighters, the PFFG work with governing bodies at the state and local level to improve the health and safety, compensation and benefits of Georgia's fire service professionals.
The PFFG engages in many charitable and benevolent activities to care for firefighters and their families who have been killed, disabled or injured on the job. We support burn foundations that care for firefighters and citizens who have suffered devastating burn injuries, as well as educating children and the public on fire safety.
For more information about the PFFG Convention, please contact June Killian, Training Director, at 706-495-9650 or the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau at 706-823-6605.
