The Augusta Technical College Foundation today announced that they have received a grant in the amount of $15,000 from America’s Warrior Partnership (AWP) Community Integration, a non-profit organization whose purpose to identify and support community-level agencies that provide holistic services to veterans. This grant has been awarded in response to a nomination by the Augusta Warrior Project, with whom Augusta Technical College will be collaborating to provide targeted advertising services to veterans to encourage them to use their educational benefits at Augusta Tech and to fund Augusta Tech’s Student Veterans Association (SVA) Chapter trip to the national SVA convention for the coming year.

“Augusta Technical College is pleased to continue our relationship with the Augusta Warrior Project. Their involvement with our College has helped to increase military enrollment while also enabling us to provide services to veterans and military personnel in a more personalized environment. This second round of grant funding will allow us to target military and veterans through advertising vehicles specifically designed with them in mind. In addition, we will have the opportunity to send student veterans and their advisors to the national convention of the Student Veterans Association where we hope to gather additional best practices that can be applied to our College,” stated Beverly Peltier, Director of Institutional Advancement.

“The Community Integration sub-grant helps foster greater community collaboration and partnership,” said Cheree Tham, Director, AWP Community Integration. “We believe our support of Augusta Technical College will help make the Augusta Warrior Project more successful. As always, our goal is to support military, veterans, and their families at the community level. We are excited about what this collaboration will mean to Augusta and its surrounding communities.”

Community Integration is a national award program administered by AWP Community Integration. It is made possible by Wounded Warrior Project funding.
