Goodwill’s Aiken Job Connection, in partnership with Dumpster Depot, recently graduated five students from a new program that provided hands-on training, national certification and promising career prospects for participants.

The five-week training initiative, which started with trainees identified through the SNAP2WORK program from the South Carolina Department of Social Services, prepared participants for credentials from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council as Certified Logistics Associates or Certified Logistics Technicians.

Each of the trainees spent 30 hours per week in a combination of classroom teaching and experiential learning opportunities through a key partnership with Dumpster Depot, which provided hands-on training for the participants in warehousing and logistics at the company’s recycling and logistics business divisions.

Larry Wigfall and Antonio Johnson earned Certified Logistics Associate certifications, and Brandon Martin, Kevin Allen and Oliver Harris earned the full Certified Logistics Technician certification.  Four of the graduates have already obtained employment in their field of study.
