The Technology Association of Georgia, the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, has named Georgia State Representative Buzz Brockway (R-Lawrenceville) as the 2015 Technology Legislator of the Year.  The honor is given annually to lawmakers who demonstrate support and understanding of Georgia’s technology issues and industry.

“TAG is appreciative of Representative Brockway’s efforts to advance technology throughout the state of Georgia.  Representative Brockway has worked with technology industry leaders to create pieces of legislation that advance solar energy, safeguard student privacy and encourage school districts to utilize technology within the classroom.  He is a forward thinking legislator that understands the efficiency technology offers consumers, education and small businesses.  These are the pillars of a Technology Legislator of the year,” said Tino Mantella.

“I am very appreciative of this award and will continue to work to see that Georgia is a nationwide leader in technology,” said Representative Brockway. “We have seen exponential growth in this industry throughout the state, not just in metro-Atlanta.  l not only want to support the industry’s growth, but encourage its continued development statewide.” said Representative Brockway.

The award was presented to Representative Brockway before a crowd of technology leaders and stakeholders at a recent TAG gathering held on June 16.
