Crews Clearing Debris for $100M Savannah Harbor Expansion Project

One of the most significant of the many environmental mitigation components that comprise nearly half the cost of the $706 million Savannah Harbor Expansion Project is now getting underway.

Site work has begun in two places along the riverbank since the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $100 million contract to Florida-based CDM Smith to build an oxygen injection system in the river designed to ensure the river’s oxygen level remains the same as it was before deepening.
