Georgia Supreme Court Sides with Gov. Deal on Judicial Appointments

The Georgia Supreme Court Tuesday upheld Gov. Nathan Deal’s appointment of three new judges to the state Court of Appeals authorized by the General Assembly last year.
Five citizens, including the head of the NAACP, filed a lawsuit last year arguing the new judgeships should be filled by a statewide election.
