Paine Gets $1M, but still Raising Funds

Declaring it a “historical moment,” the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church College of Bishops donated $1 million to Paine College to help it solidify its finances as it battles to keep its accreditation, Bishop Kenneth W. Carter said Wednesday.
In what was both figuratively and literally a revival that often brought a fervent crowd to its feet to clap and shout, speakers declared that Paine would win its fight and come out stronger for it.
