Hosted annually by the Augusta Sports Council (ASC) and the Augusta Chronicle, this year's Best of the Gridiron Banquet (previously known as All-Area Football Banquet) will celebrate and award the talent of over 80 players across Augusta's River Region for their accomplishments during the 2017 football season. Awards will be given out to local high school athletes, including coach and Player of the Year for Georgia, South Carolina and Independent schools. The Deon Grant Award and the Augusta Sports Council Punter of the Year Award will also be presented during the program.

Special guests include Ray Guy, Drew Butler and Michael Dickson (University of Texas), the 2017 Ray Guy Award recipient. Dickson declared for the NFL draft following his junior year.
