Georgia-Carolina Council Recognizes Rep Rick and Robin Allen with Distinguished Citizens Award

On Thursday evening March 21st the Georgia-Carolina Council held their annual Distinguished Citizens Dinner at the new Crown Plaza hotel in North Augusta. The 2019 honorees were Rick and Robin Allen. The capacity crowd had the opportunity to learn more about the Boy Scouts program in the CSRA from Scout executive Dan Rogers. They also heard from South Carolina State Senator Brad Hutto, who also serves as the volunteer Area 5 President for the Boy Scouts of America.

Rick and Robin were named 2019 Distinguished Citizens for their decades of dedicated service to our community. Event chair Jeremy Wilson and Council President Sam Tyson presented the awards as the crowd rose for a standing ovation to say Thank-You to the couple. After brief comments of humble gratitude, the crowd heard from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Rafensperger who spoke on the value’s of Scouting and the impact Scouting has on our state.

Previous recipients of the Distinguished Citizen award include Perry Smith in 2017 and Anne Boardman in 2018.
