Augusta University will break ground to signal the formal start of construction on a new College of Science and Mathematics building on the Health Sciences Campus. As outlined in the university’s Campus Master Plan, this strategic move of the college from Summerville should create new synergies on the Health Sciences Campus, while also opening space for other colleges and programs to expand on the Summerville Campus.

The event will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the construction site between the J. Harold Harrison, M.D. Education Commons and The Dental College of Georgia. Media may enter from Goss Lane or John Wesley Gilbert Drive and proceed to the fenced lot on Spellman Lane.

The $70 million project will encompass nearly 125,000 square feet of modern building space, including dedicated laboratories for faculty and student research to foster future academic programs.
