“I am very encouraged by the interest shown by principals of the R&B Hall of Fame team in the City of Augusta. It is equally exciting to see some of the comments from residents who believe Augusta would be the perfect destination for this type of venue.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm of the team working to identify a location for the R&B Hall of Fame, so much preliminary work has yet to be done. We need more than an appetite or an idea.

In speaking with representatives of the R&B Hall of Fame team via conference call, I asked about basic business information and specifics about location of which I am awaiting. I also asked an industry expert to reach out to the team and do some initial inquiry.

We appreciate everyone’s excitement and look forward to learning more about the potential opportunity for this and so many other business ventures that are looking to come to the City of Augusta. If this discussion progresses it will be handled formally by the Augusta Commission and legal staff.”
