Turn Back The Block Welcomes New Executive Director

Turn Back The Block has named Ashley Brown as Executive Director of the faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing Augusta's Historic Harrisburg neighborhood. An Augusta native, Brown has more than two decades of experience in sales, education, volunteer management, and fundraising. 

"I have deep roots in Augusta and I'm so excited to be a part of what Turn Black The Block is doing to promote home ownership and bring new vibrancy to the Harrisburg Neighborhood," Brown said. "I'm honored to join this organization and I'm looking forward to committing my experience, my skills, and my passion to its mission." 

"We are delighted to welcome Ashley Brown to Turn Back The Block," said Garon Muller, chair of the board of directors of Turn Back The Block. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position, plus a love for the people of her hometown. I know our homeowners, volunteers, and donors are all going to appreciate working with her." 

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and is married to Augusta native, John-Clark Brown. Their son, John T. is a senior at Aquinas High School. Ashley has a teaching degree, worked sales for over twenty years, and most recently served as the Regional Community Relations Manager for Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA. She and her family attend St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and she is active in the community. 

"It means a lot to me to know that every day, what I'm doing is supporting my neighbors in their efforts to own their own homes," Brown said.
