Monday, July 27th, 2020
Karen Brown’s En Pointe Plus Dance Mastery Institute team in collaboration with the City of Augusta, the Augusta Commission, the Richmond County Board of Education, and the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department will hold a free virtual Sand Hills Summer Youth Program. This year’s theme is “Resiliency.” The campers will explore the meaning of resiliency through the lens of “Still I Rise,” a poem by Maya Angelou. The free annual arts enrichment summer youth program is for students ages 10 – 14. This year’s program will be presented on the Zoom platform. Participants will be provided with necessary supplies as they are available.
Instruction and activities will be scheduled in two-hour blocks of time for each grade level, with adequate breaks during the sessions. Level appropriate dance, poetry and vocal instruction will be given to each participant. Age appropriate awards will be given at the end of each day, with grand prizes awarded during the final event.
