Parents Confront New Challenges with Online School

When April McClellan’s 6-year-old daughter tackles the fundamentals of first-grade reading this year, she won’t be inside a school.

“All in all, my kids are excited for the school year,” the Evans mother said. “I’m sort of in a surreal state. I know it’s time for school, but nothing seems right. Everything feels chaotic.”
