U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today visited Fort Gordon to meet with installation leadership, including Commander Garrison of the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence MG Neil Hersey and Commander Garrison of ARCYBER LTG Stephen Fogarty.

Loeffler received a tour of the base’s campus transformation, discussed military priorities and learned about its COVID-19 response. Fort Gordon is home of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, including the U.S. Army Cyber Command, U.S. Army Signal Corps and U.S. Army Cyber Corps.

“As the home to the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon is a central hub for cybersecurity and is on the frontlines of protecting our nation’s cyber domain,” said Loeffler.“Just yesterday, the installation dedicated the new headquarters for Army Cyber Command, further solidifying Fort Gordon and Augusta as an epicenter for cybersecurity. In the wake of COVID-19, I’m proud Fort Gordon was designated as a regional leader to combat the pandemic. This is a true testament to the leadership at Fort Gordon and in the surrounding community. I was grateful to meet with base commanders and brave active duty service members to learn more about their mission, capabilities and how we can help improve their ability to protect America and defeat our enemies.”
