North Augusta Chamber Luncheon Discusses Post-Secondary Industry Opportunities
Friday, November 6th, 2020
The North Augusta Chamber of Commerce November Power Luncheon highlights the advantages and opportunities in skilled trade work.
Our culture's emphasis on going to college puts many students at a disadvantage when they try and some eventually drop out, resulting in them feeling like failures. Why? Because it was not the right place for them to start with.
Many teens and young adults are skilled at working with their hands and would do well in jobs that did not require them to sit behind a desk. Parents who understand their son or daughter's interest should encourage career options aside from immediately attending college.
This panel discussion is an opportunity to hear from industry representatives the resilience, long term advantages, and financial benefits of trade work.
Panelists Include:
-
Eric Presnell, Vice President, Aiken-Augusta Electric & Security
-
Rick Busby, Owner, Busby Heating & Air Conditioning
-
David McGhee, Owner, SITEC Construction
-
Shalanda Morris, Operations & Public Relations Manager, Universal Plumbing
Moderator: Kenneth Lott, Principal, Aiken County Career and Technology Center
