2021 TEDxAtlanta Speaker Lineup Announced

The TEDxAtlanta team has unveiled its 2021 speaker roster. From fighting disinformation to building stronger startup ecosystems, the creative economy to the physiology of empathy, this edition of TEDxAtlanta promises a unique virtual day of discovery, inspiration and deep conversation.

Curated from Georgia and beyond, speakers will share intriguing ideas for solving the greatest challenges of our generation and perspectives toward a better future. The 2021 speaker line-up includes 16-year-old inventor Neha Shukler, startup community convenor Joey Womack and neuroscientist Ebony Glover who studies the neurobiology of stress.

2021 Speakers

Ebony Glover, neuroscientist. Director of Kennesaw State University’s Affective Neuroscience Laboratory and an assistant professor of psychology and neuroscience. 

Tammy Hurt, music producer, drummer. Vice-chair of the board of trustees at the Recording Academy and managing partner at Placement Music.

John A. Lanier, climate champion. Executive director of the Ray C. Anderson Foundation and founding member of Drawdown Georgia, a movement designed to scale the most effective climate solutions for the state of Georgia.

Deb Lavoy, disinformation fighter. Founder of Reality Team, a nonprofit on a mission to drown out the lies perpetrated over social media with simply stated truths and arm people with tools and information to join the fight.

Geoff Livingston, photographer, storyteller. Award-winning photographer who has photographed notable public figures includingPresident Barack Obama, actress Rosario Dawn, NBA All-Star John Wall, and Republican presidential candidate John Kasich.

Neale Martin, futurist. CEO and co-founder of Sublime Behavior Marketing and frequent speaker on habit marketing.

Kristin Moody, empathy scholar. Senior consultant at Evolve Network.

Shivani A. Patel, social epidemiologist. Assistant professor, Hubert Department of Global Health, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She is leading the effort to create the national COVID-19 Health Equity Dashboard.

Aurora Robson, debris artist. Critically acclaimed artist and activist known for her transformative work with garbage as an art medium.

Neha Shukla, inventor. High school junior with five social impact focused inventions developed to date.

Elizabeth Strickler, imagineer. Director of media entrepreneurship and innovation at Georgia State University’s (GSU) Creative Industries Innovation Institute and director of GSU’s Blockchain Lab. 

Joey Womack, connector. Founder and CEO of Goodie Nation, a national

support nonprofit for tech-focused social entrepreneurs and diverse founders, and founder and CEO of Amplify 4 Good, a mission-driven agency using rapid problem-solving to help large companies, nonprofits, and government agencies create social impact.
