U.S. Army Brigadier General Ryan Janovic, currently stationed at Fort Gordon, was recently featured in an ongoing YouTube series created by the BSA’s Georgia-Carolina Council to honor and share the stories of Eagle Scouts in the greater Augusta area.
Known by the title “Tail Feathers,” the video series this month interviewed Janovic, an Army officer of 28 years. Janovic detailed in his interview how Scouting has helped him personally and professionally.
“I would not have been accepted to West Point without it, that’s without a doubt”, Janovic said, referring to his Eagle Scout rank. “All of my opportunities I’ve had in my Army career, I can take them back to Scouting.”
In the interview, Janovic further explains how serving as a leader in his Scout troop as a young man prepared him for military service, and equipped him with valuable management skills.
