The Richmond County School System has been awarded a $700,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Education. The Literacy for Learning, Living, and Leading in Georgia (L4GA) grant supports efforts to improve literacy through schools, early learning providers and community leaders.
Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw says, “Our strategic plan targets improving early literacy skills and this grant award will allow us to align resources and services to enable our students to meet this goal.”
The grant will support expanded classroom libraries and reading intervention programs at Tobacco Road Elementary, Willis Foreman Elementary, Diamond Lakes Elementary, Spirit Creek Middle, Pine Hill Middle and Cross Creek Hill Schools.
